The Gramophone reviews and recommends  Philippe Herreweghe’s recording of Dvoràk’s Stabat Mater with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and the Collegium Vocale Gent. It also gives some useful background information. Václav Smetácek’s classic 1961 recording with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir is now available on the Supraphon label. Another classic recording, from 1976, is the  Bavarian Radio Orchestra and Choir under Rafael Kubelik. Giuseppe Sinopoli made an interesting recording in 2000 with the Dresden Staatskapelle.
