How to Join
We are a friendly and inclusive choir and we warmly welcome new members!
If you are interested in joining us, or would just like to learn more about East Bridge Chorale and its activities, please email Mary Rudge, our Membership Secretary, or phone her on 07730 572723.
We rehearse on Friday evenings from 7.30–9.30 in Littlebourne Village Hall, Littlebourne CT3 1ST and we invite you to come along and sing with us for a couple of weeks before committing to membership. There is no formal audition required, just a love of music and singing.
There are regular emails to keep members updated on choir news and we also have a dedicated private Facebook members’ page which offers support, information and inspiration.
We hope members will attend every rehearsal for each concert, but of course the occasional one may be missed. We do enourage singers to combine rehearsals with home study to enable proficiency with the music and whenever possible, we endeavour to assist you with note-learning aids, available online.
NB: To sing in our concerts, attending our final rehearsal is compulsory.
This requirement is because it’s when important last-minute logistical information is relayed. More importantly, this is when our Music Director goes over final details about the music ahead of our orchestra rehearsal and the concert itself. Likewise, because he is aiming to finesse balance and blend, anyone not singing in the concert should not attend this last rehearsal.
There are various options for paying Membership fees, which are generally £50 per season (including music hire) for ten-week rehearsal terms.
You can download an application for membership here and,
if you are a taxpayer, please download and fill in the Gift Aid form here.
We particularly encourage young singers to join us. We waive membership fees for those aged under 30 years, and music and folders are provided free of charge.
Men: Black dinner jacket, black trousers, white dress shirt, black bow tie.
Women: All black semi-formal, with minimum three-quarter length sleeves
Our Summer Term started on Friday 4th April and our Summer Concert is on Sunday 8th June. We will be singing Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, K427 and Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42, Wie der Hirsch schreit.
Our Autumn Term starts on Friday 4th July, and for our major annual concert – and as the highlight of our Fifteen Year Anniversary – we’ll be performing Verdi’s Requiem in the Colyer Fergusson Hall, Canterbury.
